On some devices, you can mix and match between two or more of these ecosystems, and on a real PC, you can (almost) have it all. There are four major choices there-Amazon/Kindle, Apple iTunes, Google Play, and Microsoft-and they’re not necessarily mutually exclusive. And consider what’s out there from an ecosystem perspective. So, stop thinking about tablets for a moment.
That is, your choice of an iPad, Nexus, Kindle, or Windows tablet should be preceded by a thorough understanding of what’s available on each device first. As we barrel through the holiday selling season and swimming in an ever-rising sea of new devices, I’m reminded that the decisions one makes should be about the ecosystems first and the actual devices second.
